Not conforming to conventional synthesizers, sequencers, or DAWs, ROTO integrates components from each of these into its platform. Featuring numerous modules including instruments, audio effects, modulators, and controllers that can be interconnected, ROTO allows users to craft intricate patches expressively in a unique manner. It serves as an unparalleled multitouch/tangible instrument tailored for interactive live performances.

One of ROTO's distinctive offerings is its tangible control feature with exclusive physical control objects designed specifically for the iPad. This tangible experience enables users to manipulate parameters by moving and twisting tangible pucks on the iPad's surface, enhancing control with three additional degrees of freedom for each hand. While the optional controllers enhance this experience, the app can still be used effectively without them.

ROTO ensures that samples, loops, and sequences stay in sync and harmony through automatic real-time key detection and time stretching algorithms. Users have the flexibility to configure wavefiles as masters to determine tonality for the entire session or as slaves to adapt to computed tonality automatically.

Additionally, ROTO offers workflow integration and collaboration capabilities with features like the MIC/LINE IN module for processing voice, guitars, or other instruments uniquely. It can be utilized in conjunction with other compatible music apps through Audiobus and receive external MIDI control from user-selectable MIDI ports/channels. Integration with Ableton Link enables ROTO to synchronize effortlessly with Ableton Live and other Ableton Link compatible iOS apps across devices.

From comprehensive controls like virtual keyboards and step-sequencers to nonlinear modules such as the accelerometer input or feedback delay, ROTO empowers users to oversee every performance nuance in real-time.
